International Cotton and Textile Fair "Cotton and textiles: new perspectives of the market" was held in Tashkent on October 12-13, 2011
Within two days Uzbekistan as one of the major players in the international cotton market, has provided an opportunity for the textile industry, textile companies and sales agents not only to meet at a round table or to get acquainted with the strategy of developing cotton complex of our country, but also participate in the fair and exchange trading, to make direct sales contracts for the supply of cotton and textile products.
     To the end of the fair, contracts for the purchase of more than 600 thousand tones of Uzbek cotton were signed by participants. Also export-contracts worth 550 million U.S. dollars for domestic textile products were signed.
The main objectives of the Cotton Fair is the further expansion of long-term cooperation with international organizations and foreign companies - the world's leading processors and consumers of cotton fiber, trend analysis and review of the prospects of the world market, as well as to familiarize Uzbek cotton consumers with its quality indicators and the latest innovations in cotton production, trade and logistics.
Logistic spectrum of Uzbekistan at the fair was represented by the company «Uzvneshtrans», which has more than 20 years experience in freight forwarding services of cotton export around the world. So far, negotiations about transportation and the signing of agreements are continuing with the main Uzbek exporters, large foreign buyers and processors of cotton.

 

     Number of participants of International Uzbek cotton and textile fair is increasing from year to year and from 2005 it has doubled. Thus, at present, to the seventh fair came over 660 representatives of 330 companies of the cotton and textile business from 38 countries. This high level of interest of foreign business circles is another proof of high importance and credibility of the fair, which has become one of the most important events in world cotton business, evidence of the growing interest in cooperation with our country, its increasing high economic potential.
